Aerobus A1 and A2 stops at Barcelona Airport
The Aerobus A1 stops connect central Barcelona with Terminal T1 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Line A2 serves Terminal T2. Choosing the right bus starts with checking your flight terminal and your direction of travel: the outward and return routes do not call at exactly the same stops.

Aerobus A1 stops: travelling to T1 and back to the city
This guide brings together the routes published by the operator and explains how to plan the journey with luggage. Both lines operate around the clock, every day of the year, although the interval between buses varies. Check service notices before setting off, particularly when roadworks, celebrations or traffic restrictions affect the city centre.
Towards the airport, A1 leaves Plaça Catalunya and calls at Carrer Sepúlveda and Plaça Espanya. At T1, the official route distinguishes Departures on level 3 and Arrivals on level 0. When catching a flight, check the Departures indication and then follow your airline’s signs inside the terminal building.
On the return journey, boarding takes place at T1 Arrivals. The bus calls at Plaça Espanya, Gran Via–Borrell and Plaça Universitat before terminating at Plaça Catalunya. This matters when choosing a stop near your hotel: the return service may not drop you where you originally boarded.
A2 uses the same three city stops on the outward journey, but serves T2B at the airport. Towards Barcelona, its route starts at T2B, also collects passengers at T2C, then continues via Espanya, Gran Via–Borrell and Universitat to Catalunya. Read the destination display before boarding and ask staff if you are unsure which terminal the bus serves.

Timetables, tickets and useful airport travel advice
The service runs continuously, including overnight. Published departures from the city on A1 are approximately every five minutes through much of the day, with longer intervals at other times. On A2, the published daytime interval is around ten minutes. Overnight, intervals can reach twenty minutes. Use these figures as planning guidance rather than a promise of an exact waiting time at every stop.
The operator describes a journey of roughly 30–35 minutes, depending on traffic. Allow additional time to reach the stop, wait for the bus, check bags and pass security. When planning an airport journey, work backwards from your airline’s recommended arrival time at the terminal, rather than from the flight’s departure time alone.
Choose your stop and airport terminal
Check the terminal on your airline booking and confirm it again before travelling. T1 and T2 are separate buildings: your choice of A1 or A2 depends on the flight terminal, not on the neighbourhood where you are staying. If your hotel is near Universitat, remember that this stop is served towards Barcelona but does not appear on the airport-bound route.
Aerobús does not stop at Sants or Barcelona Nord stations. From either station, you need to arrange a connection to a stop on the route or choose another way to reach the airport. Use the official map to locate the correct boarding point. A large square may contain several bus stops, and not all of them are used by this service.
Buy your ticket and organise your luggage
You can check and buy tickets through the operator’s website or app and at authorised sales points. Read the current fare, ticket type and conditions before paying; do not assume that a standard city transport pass includes this airport service. If buying a return ticket, check the validity period shown with your purchase.
The buses provide luggage storage areas. Position bags securely and keep travel documents and valuables with you. Have your ticket or code ready before boarding so that you do not need to search through your luggage at the door. When travelling as a group, agree on the line, boarding stop and destination terminal before anyone leaves to buy tickets or collect bags.
Accessibility and private transfer options
The operator states that its vehicles have ramps and dedicated space for wheelchair users. Check the accessibility information if you need specific assistance, travel with specialist equipment or want to confirm access at a particular stop. Leave enough time after a flight before any onward appointment, as getting through the terminal and collecting luggage can take longer than expected.
A private transfer may suit travellers who prefer an agreed pickup and a direct journey to their accommodation, especially with several bags or a group. Provide your flight number, terminal, passenger count and luggage requirements when requesting it. Our Transfer Barcelona page explains the available options, so you can compare that service with the route and boarding points of the shared airport bus.
